Welcome to Mama Living Well - My take on just about everything!

Hi!

Welcome to my blog! I am Mama! To some, that might seem quite strange because for a long time, hubby and I said we were never having children...then we got married(after being together for 7 years) and on our wedding night, we looked at each other and said, "So, wanna have kids?" We laughed pretty hard because we were thinking the same thing. It was time to round out our life :) And what a joy it has been! I have a daughter born in Jan 07 and I am due Aug 08 with a little boy. My DD is the light of my life, my DH is my best friend and I can't wait to meet my son!

We live in a cozy little house in New England and we love it here. I could stand to move to a larger house with a big wooded yard and lots of room for gardening and for the kids to play, but we do well with what we have. We are hoping to maybe pick up a house in this market for cheap and move, eventually...we will see!

I am an avid couponer and bargain hunter(cheapskate to the rest of the world..lol). I am starting to love crafting(now that I finally have an excuse to make cute clothes, cute play food, cute toys, etc :) ). I am very fierce when it comes to things I love-I protect my own-so don't cross me and we will be good! I am also dipping my fingers into many other things like a cooking club I started where we will get together with families in my area to do once a month freezer cooking. I also am the head mama of the MMM- group. We are a bunch of mamas who have kidlets and try to live as naturally as possible. My obsession is with Mothering.com, if you haven't ever checked it out, you should! Even if you aren't a crunchy mama like me(although I consider myself slightly nutty rather than full on crunchy..lol), there are wonderful resources for all kinds of things. I have made some FABULOUS friends there! LOVE!

I do have my bad habits though:

I tend to speak more than listen-and I tend to eat my words quite a bit :( I try to curb my big mouth tendencies, but it is hard. I have been like this all my life. BUT, I do know how to apologize, which makes me different than some. I just wish I could stop myself sometimes before I say something that I will have to apologize for!

I tend to buy things that I don't need, just because it is cheap or free. This particular habit drives my husband up the wall, we don't have a lot of space, so it can get overwhelming sometimes. BUT, I do sell it and make money! This spring alone I have made over $1000 just in yard sales, never mind the stuff I sell on Craigslist and Ebay!

I like to eat out because I am sometimes lazy with cooking and can't seem to get motivated to do it, plus my husband can't STAND a planned menu, so that makes it hard to cook. Especially when I say, ok, I am making pork chops for dinner and he says, "But I don't WANT pork chops.." He is like a kid! BUT, I am starting my freezer cooking club so we should have a bunch of choices and they just need to be popped in the oven, so hopefully that will help with that!

I am also lax about cleaning...my mother never really told me I HAD to clean, so I just didn't. It was easier to not do it, she would eventually do it. And it has been like that now, my husband will clean too, so I tend to be bad about it and just let him do it. BUT, I am trying to be better about it and rather than letting it build up to unmanageable heights, I have been doing the clean as I go routine and it seems to be working out well....

And my last bad habit is my addiction to the computer! I love to read email, post on CL, post on MDC, check my myspace, look for stuff.....BUT, I don't let my family get neglected and I am doing better with my cooking and cleaning and crafting, so I think this part is ok. I just need moderation in ALL things!
